This is a Level 1 qualification and aims to develop skills in the practices of Digital Imaging

This course focuses on introducing you to the world of digital imaging and projects where you will understand the role and application of digital imaging.

The course is aimed at individual seeking employment, freelancers needing to produce digital images for their work or for those wishing to go into higher study.

Course Content

The Course covers the following content:

Know how to produce manipulated images
Know about the uses and principles of digital graphics for a given brief
Be able to plan, edit and produce a digital graphic for a given brief
Outline legal and ethical considerations including copyright
Be able to review and improve your own work based on feedback from the tutor and others

This course will give skills in an industrial standard digital imaging software - Adobe Photoshop

The methods of teaching are:
Project work
Ongoing Class assignments

We want to keep you safe while you are at RHACC and as such all on-site classes will have additional hygiene procedures in place, as per government guidelines. Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

You will need to have enough English at a level 1 standard and be able to:
-understand instructions with some technical vocabulary
-provide material that demonstrates techniques learned.
-communicate clearly with the tutor and participate in classroom discussions

On a computer you will need to be able to:
-use a keyboard, mouse and computer with confidence.
-open a new document, save and file it in a folder.

Ideally you will have already completed previous courses using Adobe creative software. There will be an interview to ensure that the course will meet your needs.

Attendance Requirements

As this is a qualification based course you need to have 100% attendance.
Developing creative and digital media skills is an ongoing process and the exercises are built upon your progress week by week.

Assessment Methods

This qualification (Level 1 Award in Skills for Professions in the Creative and Digital Media Industries) is gained by producing a portfolio which is produced from class based exercises with ongoing feedback provided by the tutor. This is assessed by the tutor and the final portfolio is then reviewed by an external moderator to verify the qualification

Remote Learning:

If your course is indicated as an ONLINE COURSE, you will need either a PC (with a camera and microphone), laptop, tablet, smartphone and access to the internet to be able to join the lessons. Lessons will run at the published time – so be ready and set up to join in.
