Want to rediscover the joy of movement and improve your well-being? This Ballet class is perfect for beginners and intermediate dancers. You'll focus on basic ballet steps, proper body placement, and strengthening and stretching your muscles. This course will help you improve your flexibility, strength, and balance, all while having fun.
Course Content
This course covers:
Dance is a gradual process of building muscle memory, strength and competence. This is a continuous class cycle for health and wellbeing.
You will learn traditional barre exercises and centre combinations.
You will be asked to learn combinations during class.
You may ask questions and have the material demonstrated as needed.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
No previous dance training or experience is required.
You should be reasonably mobile and in good health.
First Class Requirements
Practical dancewear, ballet shoes or socks, water bottle.
Attendance Requirements
Regular attendance will enable you to make maximum progress although it is also possible to catch up after missed sessions as each class will include an element of revision and consolidation before moving on to new steps/movements.
Assessment Methods
Regular attendance will help you make the most progress. If you miss a session, don't worry! Each class includes revision and consolidation before moving on to new steps and movements, so you can easily catch up.
Additional Information
Please bring practical dancewear, ballet shoes or socks, and a water bottle. We also update a tutorial blog weekly for at-home study, so you can continue learning between classes.
