Why Study This Course?
A course for those with experience of throwing on the wheel who wish to improve and enjoy
five days of throwing. The course is right for you if you can centre, keep the clay on centre to
make a vessel and have learned how to turn away excess clay. The course is also there to stretch
and inspire you to make new forms whatever your level.
We will cover techniques from the following list depending on the group: repeat forms, lidded
vessels, throwing and altering, large bowls and cylinders, enclosed forms and throwing off the
hump. We will cover handle making and throwing on footrings and knobs. You will be supported
in your own aim and advised on perfecting details allowing you to take a step towards making
better pots.
A glazing session in September is part of the course
