Ceramics Workshop - Untutored

This is an untutored workshop designed to give you time in the studio to work on your own projects. A technician is on hand to help with technical issues.

This course is for current RACC students only.

Course Content

This is an untutored workshop and so there is no course structure - but you will be free to work on your own projects. There will be a technician to advise and support you, and of course your fellow classmates will be there for peer support.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on the start date of the course.

You should already be familiar with our ceramic studio and be confident using clay.

First Class Requirements

An apron and your own tools.

Attendance Requirements

Regular attendance will help you gain maximum benefit from the course.

Assessment Methods

No assessment.

Additional Information

As a result of the government’s closure of schools and colleges, some of our courses will be delivered through remote learning including video conferencing, (using Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and email contact with your tutor.

If your course is indicated as an ONLINE COURSE, you will need either a PC (with a camera and microphone), laptop, tablet, smartphone and access to the internet to be able to join the lessons. Lessons will run at the published time – so be ready and set up to join in.

We hope you will enjoy this new approach to learning – many of our learners have commented on how they are enjoying the classes and have improved their IT and digital skills in the process.

Please don't worry if some of this is new to you - you are not alone! See here for guidance on how to use our simple software. If you are experiencing any problems with connection or installing software for your online class please contact our learning resource team on lrc@rhacc.ac.uk. We are here to help you.

You will be required to pay for materials that you use from the college and for your firing. Details will be given out at the first class and prices will be dependent on materials used and size of work. You may also bring in your own glass, clay or wax etc should you wish to, however there is no storage on site for materials unless they are purchased from the college.
