This Level 3 qualification provides learners with the skills and knowledge to develop AI solutions using Python. It covers Python programming fundamentals, essential libraries for AI, version control, and the mathematical concepts required for machine learning. Learners will also explore neural networks and deep learning basics. The course is designed for individuals seeking careers in AI development, data analysis, or software engineering.
Python Programming Fundamentals:
Syntax, functions, loops, and data structures.
Writing and debugging scripts.
AI Libraries and Tools:
NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib for data manipulation and visualization.
Introduction to TensorFlow and Keras for neural networks.
Version Control:
GitHub for collaboration and code management.
Mathematics for AI:
Linear Algebra: Vectors, matrices, and transformations.
Calculus: Derivatives and gradients for optimization.
Neural Networks and Deep Learning:
Building simple models and understanding activation functions.

Entry is by tutor approval only. Students should ideally have a good general knowledge of IT and may be working in the IT industry or changing careers. Students should have at least 6 hours per week for independent learning to keep up with the reading and practical content.
Learners will need a good standard of literacy and numeracy prior to considering this course. This is formally required as English and Maths both at least at Level 2 standard - GCSE grade 4 / C or Functional skills level 2.Any student not having formal qualifications will be required to complete an English and Maths assessment.
Finally as this is a programming development course, you will also need to have existing and prior proficiency with some coding. This will be discussed at interview and you may be required to submit a code sample and then be asked questions about it at interview.
