This course will teach a range of new jewellery making skills. You will learn how to upcycle broken
or unused costume jewellery into new pieces. Make moulds and cast resin pieces. Make objects
such as pendants in pewter and learn wire working techniques.

Course Content

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

- Learn a range of jewellery Making skills, recognising and using a tools and equipment.
- Follow H&S rules and regulations
- Learn how to upcycle broken or unused costume jewellery into new pieces.
- Make moulds and cast resin pieces.
- Make objects such as pendants in pewter.
- Learn wire working techniques.
- Problem solve by developing design ideas and experimentation

In keeping with professional working practice, the last 15 minutes of each session will be used to clean up your work space.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

This course is for learners interested in learning jewellery making skills and is suitable for
beginners and intermediate or those who would like to work with non-precious materials.

First Class Requirements

You will need to bring a sketch book or note pad and pencil. A toolbox, art box or container to
keep ongoing project work and tools, a tape measure and reading classes if needed. Broken or
unused costume jewellery (non-precious).

Assessment Methods

All leaners will have a personalised learning plan which will document and assess your progression.

Additional Information

Some basic materials will be provided while others can purchased during the course.

All learners will receive a health and safety induction in alignment with their course. Learners are advised to wear closed toe shoes and to dress appropriately.
