Explore collage as a versatile medium, blending it with painting, drawing, and printing.
Create imagery using found materials, hand-painted papers, and printed elements.
Learn to digitize and print your collages using an iPad.
Participate in weekly group feedback sessions to foster artistic growth.
This course covers:
Collage Creation: Understanding different ways collages can be created.
Material Collection: Developing an eye for collecting papers, materials, and textures.
Paper Techniques: Learning the art of experimenting with torn and cut paper.
Textured Papers: Painting your own textures on paper for use in your collage.
Recycled Objects: Producing collage using a variety of found or recycled objects.
Expression and Representation: Producing both expressionistic and representational collages using elements from newspapers, photography, and magazines.
Artist Exploration: Learning about other collage artists' work and their techniques.
Composition and Symbolism: Learning how to use/consider basic composition, themes, and symbolism.
Material Library: Learning how to establish a library of collage materials from everyday objects.
Colour and Texture: Learning how to explore and experiment using a wide range of colour, texture, and tone within your work.
Feedback Sessions: Taking part in supportive feedback sessions on your peers' work.
Project Development: Taking part in a group discussion to help develop your class work into more extensive projects beyond the course.

You must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
Some prior knowledge of art materials, tools & techniques is required to make this a more beneficial experience.
Each session will conclude with informal, supportive group critiques, giving you the opportunity to share your work and receive constructive feedback. Throughout the course, your tutor will provide individual verbal feedback as you work on projects and participate in discussions.
