Digital Marketing and Social Media Access to HE OCNLR Level 3 Diploma

This course will prepare you for university study and a career in digital marketing, particularly in relation to social media. Key modules include Social media communications and technologies, Principles and techniques of digital marketing and you will develop web design and creation skills.

Course Content

The course consist of a series of specific digital marketing and digital business modules:

- Business Communication, Management, Organization and structure
- Digital Marketing, Metrics and Analytics
- Web Design, E-commerce and Search Engine optimisation
- Social media technologies and communication
- Marketing - Marketing concepts, strategy, research and planning

In addition there are a range of study skills units which will form part of the Maths and English content on the course and also provide you with the learning skills which are important in preparing for higher level study. These include academic writing, mathematics, research and multimedia presentation skills

Entry Requirements

You should have a grade C or above at GCSE English and Maths gained within the last five years. If you do not have this you may still apply and provide evidence of any other qualifications you have done. All applicants will also be asked to undertake a screening test in Maths and English. You should be able to write fluently and understand business materials including financial information.

You will be interviewed to assess whether the course is appropriate for you.Access courses are designed for learners aged 19 and above. Learners must be aged 19 and over on the 31st August 2018.
However, we may consider applications from applicants aged 18, according to individual circumstances. In this case, you would be required to undertake a full time study programme in the same way as in a school or college setting. A study programme includes the core access qualification plus relevant work experience, tutorial sessions and enrichment activities. Younger applicants must also have achieved GCSE grade C (or grade 4) in both English and Maths.

First Class Requirements

Pen, Paper, Ring binder folder, Calculator, Memory stick, all of which can be purchased from a stationery store.

Attendance Requirements

Learners are expected to attend all sessions. Every 6 weeks all students will be given a formal tutorial at which your continuation, progress and attendance will be reviewed.

Assessment Methods

You will be continually assessed and the main assessment method is coursework, there will also be some assessment through reviewing case studies, preparing reports and projects.

The access course is a very intensive course and the demand on learners to meet assessment targets is extremely high. There are around 20 assignments to be included in your final portfolio of evidence. As a consequence you will be expected to meet our requirements for regular attendance and meet assessment deadlines. Failure to do so could end in your withdrawal after six weeks.

Further Study Options

Completing this course allows you to apply for university degree courses. One big advantage of this course is that you can complete it in a much shorter time to A-levels.
Higher education/degree level study in Digital Marketing, IT, Web development, Enterprise, E and Digital-business, Business Studies, Media technology or a number of other course options. 100% our learners were made offers in the last academic year.
