Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning Level 3 NCFE CACHE

This blended learning qualification is for learners who are progressing from Level 2 and have sufficient experience of working a classroom with a teacher. You will complete an e-portfolio supported by a classroom based session at the start of each term and on line support from your tutor. You will attend workshops on Makaton, Story Telling and Puppet making.

Course Content

This qualification will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills required when working directly with children in schools. It covers all aspects of specialist support including planning, delivering and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher; bilingual support; special needs support; personal development and reflective practice.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

You must have English at Level 2, either GCSE grade C or above or Functional Skills. You will ideally have a level 2 Supporting Teaching & Learning or sufficient experience in the classroom. You must be employed by your school in order to do this qualification

First Class Requirements

Bring an A4 lined pad, black pen, highlighter and ring binder to the first class.

Attendance Requirements

Attendance at classroom based and online sessions is compulsory.

Assessment Methods

Your written work will be assessed on line. Your tutor/assessor will observe you in the classroom throughout the course, putting your knowledge and skills into practice.

Further Study Options

You will be able to enrol on Paediatric First Aid, Food Safety, Makaton and Infection Control.

Additional Information

You will need access to a laptop with camera and microphone in order to undertake this course.


Remote Learning:
Some of our courses are now delivered through remote learning, including video conferencing (using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype) and email contact with your tutor.

If your course is indicated as an ONLINE COURSE, you will need either a PC (with a camera and microphone), laptop, tablet, smartphone and access to the internet to be able to join the lessons. Lessons will run at the published time – so be ready and set up to join in.
