Why Study This Course?
This one day introduction course will teach you how you can etch a pattern or design onto leather using stamping or pyrography tools.
You will work from a chosen image or drawing and learn how this can be transferred onto leather. You will also learn a range of basic techniques, which can be used to decorate leather accessories.If you would like to enrol on an eligible course as a Carer then please visit reception at either Parkshot or Hillcroft where one of our staff will be able to assist you. Through hands on demonstrations and tuition, you will:
- learn about basic leather properties
- take and record accurate measurements
- create samples of leather etching techniques and methods
- use professional methods and terminology
- work safely with a range of tools and equipment
There is no formal assessment for this course, but your progress will be monitored via question and answer in groups and individually and by observation. You will be given regular verbal feedback as to how you could improve and your progress in general.
This course is suitable for beginners and those with some textile experience or knowledge
