Do you want to improve your English and explore a career in childcare? This course is designed to boost your confidence in speaking, reading, and writing English. You’ll practice pronunciation, spelling, and sentence structure in a supportive classroom environment. By the end of the course, you’ll be ready to progress to further childcare courses and take the first steps towards a rewarding career working with children.
This course will build your confidence in using English and improve your conversational skills. You will gain practical skills in reading, writing, and speaking. Supportive tutors will guide you every step of the way.
Whilst developing your English language skills, this course will support you to develop your interest in children’s care, learning and development. You will develop your understanding of:
Children’s play and how it supports them in their journey of development, as well as how to plan activities to meet children’s individual needs
Stereotyping and how it can affect children’s participation in play and emotional well-being
The importance of communicating effectively with children and colleagues within a childcare setting, as well as different methods for communicating
Develop an understanding of environmental issues and how we can support children in their understanding of the importance of respecting the world they live in
The course will provide you with the opportunity to explore your interest in childcare and children’s development

Before the start of this course, you will undertake an English language assessment to help us put you on the right level for your studies.
This course is aimed at students who are 18 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date. Before you start this course, you need to take an English language assessment to help us put you in the right level of your course.
Please bring a folder to keep your work in, a black or blue pen, and a lined notepad of paper.
