This course covers:
Drawing from Observation: Develop observational skills to accurately represent the human form.
Clay Modelling Techniques: Learn various techniques for shaping and manipulating clay.
Wire Armatures: Use wire armatures to support and structure your sculptures.
Surface Finishes: Experiment with textures, oxides, and glazes to create tonal effects.
Contemporary and Historical Artists: Explore the work of artists for inspiration.

This course is suitable for beginners.
It is also suitable for those wanting to develop their existing skills.
Your progress will be assessed through Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) and regular discussions with your tutor. You'll track your practice through written notes and receive written feedback from your tutor, gauging your progression and personal development throughout the course.
We recommend wearing non-slip, closed footwear in the pottery area.
Model fees are included in the course fees.
You will need to pay for the materials you use from the college and for firing your work. Details will be provided in the first class.
You can bring your own materials, but on-site storage is not available unless purchased from the college.
Please allow 15 minutes at the end of each class to tidy up.
