How To Ace Your Interview

This is a one-off session aimed to equip you with the tools that you need to make your job hunting more effective and less daunting. In this short session, you will learn simple tricks and techniques to make sure that you know exactly what to expect from your interview, and how to present yourself in the best light.

Course Content

This session that will start and end with a self-assessment of knowledge and skills. Feedback from peers and facilitator will help everyone to achieve the aims of the session, in a constructive and supportive environment.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Topics covered: how to prepare for your interview; the importance of the first impression, and how to use it to your advantage; effective answers to competency-based interview questions and practice; preparation of the Elevator speech to answer the question Tell me about you.

First Class Requirements

To successfully complete this course, you must commit to 100% attendance and punctuality.

Attendance Requirements

Please talk to your tutor about other employability workshops the college has to offer. You may also want to consider the 6- week New Direction employability course that leads to a Level 1 employability qualification.

Assessment Methods

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on the start date of the course. There are no other formal entry requirements for this course.

Additional Information

You are expected to have an A4 writing pad, a ring-binder or folders as well as pencils, a rubber, a ruler and a highlighter pen.
