How to set up a Business for Creative Professionals

This course will be delivered online.

This is a course for Artists, Fashion Designers, Interior Designers, and Photographers wishing to know how to set up and promote a business, create a brand and become self-employed.

Course Content

Have an insight on branding including ideas on content design

Select your favourite/ideal social media channel for your business, i.e. Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, and LinkedIn

Understand how social media platforms are used, differ from each other, and require different etiquettes

Have an insight on scheduling a marketing/social media campaign

Grasp the essential skills to manage a business

Set up as a self-employed and keep records for the business

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on the start date of the course.

This course is suitable for beginners using or wanting to use Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.

First Class Requirements

This course is project based, and you will take part in a number of practical exercises, classroom discussions and receive advice in relation to the advantages of using social media to promote your business.

Material needed: Notebook, pen, and phone

Additional Information

Some of our courses are now delivered through remote learning, including video conferencing (using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype) and email contact with your tutor.

If your course is indicated as an ONLINE COURSE, you will need either a PC (with a camera and microphone), laptop, tablet, smartphone and access to the internet to be able to join the lessons. Lessons will run at the published time – so be ready and set up to join in.
