This practical weekend course is for anyone who is thinking about working for themselves or starting a new business. On this course you develop will an awareness of the challenges you may face when starting a new venture and an understanding of the essential knowledge and skills required to be successful.

Course Content

· Identify your Unique Selling Point
· Understanding what you want from your Business
· How to seek professional advice and funding options
· Create a Business Plan
· Basic Budgeting
· Relevant Legislation
· The 5 Ps of Marketing and different marketing techniques including the use of social media
· Understanding Tax, National Insurance and other relevant regulations

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course although you should have a good level of literacy and a basic understanding of the use of IT.

Assessment Methods

There is no formal assessment for this course. However, you will receive feedback a number of individual, pair or group tasks. You will
also create and review your own Individual Learning Plan (ILP)

Additional Information

Most learners who opt to study on a residential basis can apply for bursary funding to pay their residential fees. For those who are not eligible, the costs are:
