Why Study This Course?
This course is designed for learners who have completed an intermediate level of Italian and want to strengthen their confidence, accuracy, and fluency. Through engaging communicative activities, structured grammar review, and exposure to authentic Italian texts, students will refine their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The course places a strong emphasis on expanding vocabulary, improving pronunciation, and consolidating key grammatical structures while exploring contemporary Italian culture. By the end of the course, learners will feel more prepared to participate more comfortably in everyday conversations and progress toward advanced Italian study.
Our courses follow a communicative approach which will give you the skills to communicate effectively in Italian in everyday situations. Classroom activities in pairs and groups will help you acquire speaking and listening skills, and you will also develop your reading and writing skills. You will build upon the previous years grammatical content and discover a wider range of tenses, for instance to talk about the past.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Learn and expand your range of vocabulary on the topics of Work, such as expressing one's opinions and presenting our skills and personality, Relationships, Town and Countryside, Eating out
- Consolidate tenses previously learnt (passato prossimo, imperfetto and subjunctive)
- Use a range of structures to give and justify your opinions, agree or disagree with someone, proverbs and speciic expressions, concessive clauses
- Continue to develop fluency and spontaneity in speaking when doing role plays, in classroom interactions and in presentations to the class
- Develop your intercultural awareness by comparing traditions
Attendance of Italian intermediate level.
You'll discuss your goals with the tutor who will assess your progress during the course through in-class observation and a range of activities. You will record and reflect on your progress in your Personal Learning Plan (PLP). After completing this course, you can progress to post-Intermediate Italian Stage 1.
In your first lesson, the tutor will give you details of the textbook you will require. Please bring a pen and paper or your electronic device if preferred. Regular attendance is advisable to develop language skills and ensure maximum progress.
Please note that tutors may occasionally be changed at short notice. While teaching styles may vary, we ensure consistent quality across all of our courses. For this reason, a change of tutor does not qualify for a refund.
