Building on basic Italian, Post Beginners Stage 1 enhances grammar and vocabulary skills. Topics include describing past events, discussing daily routines and use of more complex sentences. Interactive sessions ensure confidence is practical communication.

The sessions are very interactive and engaging, so come prepared to join in and have some fun!

Course Content

Our courses follow a communicative approach which will give you the skills to communicate effectively in Italian in everyday situations. Classroom activities in pairs and groups will help you develop your speaking and listening skills and consolidate your knowledge of the basic rules of pronunciation, and you will also develop your reading and writing skills.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

This is a course is for you if you have completed an Italian Beginners course or Italian Intensive or equivalent. Please see the language placement tests on our website if you are unsure of your level.

First Class Requirements

Please bring a pen and paper or your electronic device if preferred.

Attendance Requirements

Regular attendance is advisable to develop language skills and ensure maximum progress.

Assessment Methods

Learners will discuss their goals with the tutor who will assess their progress during the course through in-class observation and a range of activities. You will record and reflect on your progress in your Personal Learning Plan (PLP).

Further to completing this course you can progress to Beginners Stage 2.
