Progressing from Post Beginners Stage 1, this course dives deeper into advanced grammar and vocabulary. Students master complex sentence structures, idiomatic expressions, and cultural nuances. Communication skills are honed for various social and professional contexts through engaging activities and listening. You will also develop your knowledge of the cultural heritage of the language.

Course Content

Regular attendance is advisable to develop language skills and ensure maximum progress.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Completion of Post Beginners Stage 1 or equivalent (30 hours of study). Please see our placement tests on the website if you are unsure.

First Class Requirements

In your first lesson, the tutor will give you details of the textbook you will require.

Attendance Requirements

Our courses follow a communicative approach which will give you the skills to communicate effectively in Italian in everyday situations, such as ordering food and drinks, asking for directions, booking a holiday and travelling. Classroom activities in pairs and groups will help you acquire speaking and listening skills and the basic rules of pronunciation. You will also develop your reading and writing skills. You will start building on your grammar and sentence structure with more connectives, verb forms and ways to express opinions.

Assessment Methods

Learners will discuss their goals with the tutor who will assess their progress during the course through in-class observation and a range of activities. You will record and reflect on your progress in your Personal Learning Plan (PLP).
