Jazz Dance - Beginners

This is a fun exercise class centred around jazz dance.Beginner friendly class aimed to provide you with an energetic dance class at a steady pace learning jazz dance style combinations and choreography.
Learn about the various styles of Jazz dance through exploration of choreography and warm up combinations of isolation and coordination to improve your flexibility, stamina and musicality.

Course Content

Each session starts with a full centre warm up, including strengthening, stretching, and jazz dance technique.

Then the class will work on different routines in the style of different jazz genres; Fosse, Broadway, Vaudeville, and Commercial.

Finishing with a cool down to help release used muscles and recentre the body.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

You should be above the age of 18 with good general fitness and a determination to get fitter.

Assessment Methods

You should wear fitness style clothes, socks, jazz shoes/sneakers/indoor trainers.

You should bring a water bottle and towel- if you like to wipe when perspiring.

Additional Information

Performing a taught routine as a group that will be recorded on the second to last week of the course.
Followed by one to one chat with guidance in for future learning.
