You will:
Learn how to work with silver.
Learn how to make a setting and set a cabochon stone in a ring or pendant.
Learn how to carve a ring and pendant from wax and have it cast in silver.
Learn how to make chain and produce a bracelet.
Learn how to add colour, texture and finishes to your pieces.
Be encouraged to design and work on personal projects.
Discuss your aims with your tutor and come up with some achievable personal targets for the course (if you are a returning learner/Improver).
This course covers:
Working with silver: Learn techniques for manipulating and shaping silver
Stone setting: Master the art of creating settings and securely setting cabochon stones
Wax carving: Design and carve rings and pendants from wax, ready for casting
Chain making: Produce your own unique chain and create a bracelet
Adding colour and texture: Explore different finishes and techniques to add visual interest to your pieces
Personal projects: Design and create your own jewellery pieces with guidance from the tutor

This course is not suitable for beginners.
Previous jewellery design and making skills are essential.
There are no formal assessments. You'll receive verbal feedback on your progress throughout the course, with guidance on how to improve your techniques.
