Managing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion - Level 5 Award

Effective management of equality and diversity not only benefits staff and stakeholders, it can also positively impact on an organisation's achievement. This qualification is aimed at enabling managers to understand the business case for equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and the role of managers in creating inclusive working environments.

Course Content

The course will look at the skills required to lead by example, and practical ways to promote inclusion; among the topics treated:
- benefits and advantages of commitment to equality and diversity;
- organisational approaches to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion to staff and stakeholders;
- leadership styles which support practice improvement in relation to equality, diversity and inclusion;
- how to develop a plan which supports equality, diversity and inclusion within an organisation;
- methods to monitor outcomes against targets to promote continuous improvement

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on the start date of the course.

Assessment Methods

Learning will be assessed regularly throughout the course; a final written assignment will assess understanding of the topics treated during the course.

Additional Information

Some of our courses are now delivered through remote learning, including video conferencing (using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype) and email contact with your tutor.

If your course is indicated as an ONLINE COURSE, you will need either a PC (with a camera and microphone), laptop, tablet, smartphone and access to the internet to be able to join the lessons. Lessons will run at the published time – so be ready and set up to join in.
