Music Appreciation - Wagner
C01229

Summer 2019: Wagner

Course Content

We will explore all sides of this titan of the music world: while concentrating hugely on his music, there?s no doubt that his personality informs his works and reception (reputation) and so must be considered. With lots of listening and discussion, we will look at his major and minor works, putting them in their musical and social context, and looking outwards to his contemporaries too. Terminology will be explained; you do not have to be able to read music, and there will always be time for questions and discussion.
