Why Study This Course?

Introduction to Photography is a creative course designed for adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who are interested in learning the basics of photography in a supportive and practical environment. Delivered over 3 hours a week across the academic year, the course introduces learners to key photography skills including composition, lighting, portrait photography, and taking photographs both indoors and outdoors.
Learners will have the opportunity to explore studio, portrait, and outdoor photography while building confidence, creativity, communication, and digital skills. The course is suitable for beginners and focuses on learning through practical activities and experimentation.
Although owning a camera is beneficial, learners will also learn how to use cameras on mobile phones effectively, helping them develop photography skills using everyday technology
