Why Study This Course?
This course will teach you skills in photographic editing skills and techniques to serve as a follow up after RAW processing. You will learn to use Adobe PhotoShop to edit and manipulate images and save in different formats for use towards various outputs.
This course has a photographic focus and you will learn to support and evidence your learning through keeping a digital workbook and presenting your work.
Please note that this is not set up as a beginner’s course. This course is tailored to be a follow-on course that builds on the skills and knowledge of an PhotoShop Essentials/Basics course.
Content includes:
-Source, Manipulate and edit digital photographic images in PhotoShop
-Produce work in a digital and print format
-Explore:
methods to control tonal, colour adjustments
Selection methods (magic wand and Object/Quick selection tools)
Recreating common ?darkroom? Photographic techniques
Filter options
Retouching methods
Common key preparations of image for printing
- Apply relevant techniques
-Analyse and present work
-Give and respond to feedback
-Develop a variety of practical skills using Adobe software
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
You will need to have enough English to understand instructions with some technical vocabulary. You will need to provide material that demonstrates techniques learned. You will need to communicate clearly with the tutor and participate in classroom discussions. You must have some prior experience in using Photoshop software. You will be required to attend an interview and provide some examples of photographic work which you have processed using an Adobe application; this may include Photoshop, Camera Raw or Lightroom.
Tutor approval is required.
Producing a workbook showing technical and creative application of techniques. Presenting in both print and digital format. The workbook is created from class-based exercises with ongoing feedback provided by the tutor. The tutor assesses your work and the final presentation.
