This course is perfect for beginners who want to improve their alignment and movement control.
Our focus is on helping you develop a body that is more efficient in daily activities and less prone to injuries. You will learn strategies to prevent poor posture and pain. You will gain a better understanding of your body and how to move with more control and awareness.
This course covers:
Your first lesson will involve an initial assessment of your mobility and you will also be given a brief introduction to the history of Joseph Pilates
How to use correct breathing techniques during exercise
Exercise to strengthen your core muscles
Learning how to use muscles efficiently
Toning the body as a whole and Relaxation

You should be reasonably healthy and mobile.
The tutor will work where possible on a one to one basis to assess your skills and give advice on how to improve. This course will give you a solid foundation in Pilates, and you can then progress to more advanced classes.
Mats are provided by the college. Please bring a towel and wear loose, comfortable clothing. We want you to feel comfortable and ready to learn.
