Richmond Choral society is a small, friendly non-auditioning choral society. We welcome singers of all abilities and experiences; rehearsal aids will be given or recommended to help you learn your voice part.

Course Content

Repertoire: Mass in D major by Ethel Smyth.

This wonderful work from 1891 was well-received in its day but has not been performed much since. Join us to sing an accessible yet rich and exciting work, with professional soloists and our fabulous regular accompanist. We work as a mixed-ability choir, and you will receive as much help with the music and the texts as you need, including rehearsal files for practice.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements or auditions; the ability to read music is helpful but not essential

Pencil and rubber

Attendance Requirements

Regular attendance required

Assessment Methods

Assessment is informal and ongoing and music will be provided (and need not be learned by heart); you need to bring a pencil and rubber to each session.
