Rock and Pop Guitar - Beginners

This is a new fun, practical course aimed at a complete beginner guitarist. No playing experience or ability to read music is required. The course will cover all the fundamentals and have you playing simple tunes in a creative and relaxed environment.

Course Content

The course will cover:

- Correct posture and tuning your instrument
- Basic strumming and picking techniques
- Reading guitar tablature and basic rhythmic notation
- The four-chord songbook, common chord progression and building a repertoire of simple pieces
- Practice strategies

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

The desire to learn to play guitar. Learners need to bring their own guitar to the lesson.

Attendance Requirements

Attendance throughout the course will help you gain maximum benefit from the course.

Assessment Methods

There is no formal assessment on this course, although you will be able to identify individual goals and later reflect on your development. Your tutor will assess your learning and progress during the practical nature of the classes.
