Why Study This Course?
This course is designed to follow on from the 3D Studio Max Introduction course and gives a more in-depth look at 3DS Max. You will need to have completed the 3D Studio Max Introduction course or have an equivalent level of knowledge and experience of 3D Studio Max. 3DS Max is an extremely powerful industry-standard program used computer gaming, architectural visualisation, advertising, and in films such as ‘Toy Story’ & ‘Lord of the Rings’.
3DS Max is an extremely powerful professional level computer program is used in industry to make Computer Games, Architectural Visualisation, Advertising and has been used in films such as “Toy Story” & “Lord of the Rings”. In this course you will explore the animation features of 3DS max and begin to create your own movies. You will learn animation techniques such as stop frame, key frame and control of the time-line editor, animated texture maps, & animation modifiers such as cloth, wind gravity. bi-ped animation. Student will be able to develop their own portfolio projects from storyboard to completion. Students should be familiar with 3DS Max and our Introductory course is recommended as a starting point. Having completed this course, students can choose to progress to the 3D Studio Max Animation & Modelling Certificate. There will also be the opportunity for individual tutorials and advice to help you develop your career portfolio.
You will learn through practical demonstration, excercises, formal instruction and individual tuition. Your progress will be assessed through coursework, observation and in-class tests. Subjects covered include:
• Animation interface.
• Timeline control
• Animation features
• Key frame animation/Stop frame animation (animating objects)
• Personal (or group) folio development
• Idea development
• Storyboard and planning
• Special effects
• Procedural animation
• Using Maxscript to record and playback your actions
• Particle systems
• Using animated textures to reduce complexity
• Cameras and lighting
• Rendering & Net Rendering
• Workflow
You will need to have completed the 3D Studio Max Introduction course or have an equivalent level of knowledge and experience of 3D Studio Max.
Learners will be assessed informally as they progress through the course.
