Spanish Conversation & Grammar - Advanced

The aim of the course is to help you express yourself in a variety of registers and to give you confidence by increasing your command of the language while practicing the skills for reading and listening, speaking and writing.

Course Content

Topics will include: Regions and countries of the Hispanic world, cultural , social and political aspects, the study of a novel and current affairs.
The learning activities used in class will generate a relaxed, friendly and motivated atmosphere enabling you to fulfil your potential, increase your confidence, and develop a fuller appreciation of life and culture through the medium or higher level language. Important Notice: You will be expected to participate in lively discussions in pairs and groups and may be asked to prepare topics for discussion in advance

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on the start date of the course.

At least 6 years' recent study or equivalent knowledge of the language.
You may have studied the language at higher level but need to refresh your knowledge.

Regular attendance strongly recommended to improve your language accuracy and confidence to speak.

Homework and monitoring progress in class.

Further Study Options

Further studies at the same level and recommended grammar and cultural workshops will complement your learning.

Additional Information

Tailor-made resources for each session to be shared with students in advance or after each session to enable students to widen their language knowledge and improve their confidence.
A grammar book may be recommended to complement your studies.


Remote Learning:
Some of our courses are now delivered through remote learning, including video conferencing (using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype) and email contact with your tutor.

If your course is indicated as an ONLINE COURSE, you will need either a PC (with a camera and microphone), laptop, tablet, smartphone and access to the internet to be able to join the lessons. Lessons will run at the published time – so be ready and set up to join in.
