This taster course is delivered on behalf of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (LBRuT) and is open to Richmond upon Thames residents only. Residents can enrol on one free LBRuT course per academic year.

Course Content

LBRuT taster courses are designed to give you a flavour of the subject you may be interested in learning, and we provide a range of longer programmes (many of them free or with generous concessions for eligible learners) that you can progress onto. The taster courses are free to residents of Richmond upon Thames and are delivered on behalf of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (LBRuT). Richmond residents can enrol on one free LBRuT course per year.Course Content
This Taster course will be of interest to you if you want to learn more about Childcare and how you can pursue a career in this sector. At the end of this short course you will be able to apply to the 'Introduction to Childcare' and/or the Level 1 Award in Caring for Children course.

You will be assessed by your tutor on your progress towards the learning outcomes for this very short course

You must attend on time and commit to attending the entire session.

We want to keep you safe while you are at RHACC and as such all on-site classes will be run under strict social distancing guidelines with smaller class sizes and additional hygiene procedures in place. Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be resident in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and age 19 or over on the start date of the course. (LBRuT residents are entitled to one free LBRuT course per academic year.)

This taster course is delivered on behalf of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (LBRuT) and is open to Richmond upon Thames residents only. Residents can enrol on one free LBRuT course per academic year. You must also be 19 or over (on 31st August 2020) prior to the course start date.
There are no academic entry requirements for this Taster course however you will need to have Level 1 English skills in order to progress to the Level 1 qualification course.

First Class Requirements

If the course is delivered remotely, you will need to be able to access online learning. You will need either a PC (with a camera and microphone), laptop, tablet, or smartphone and access to the internet to be able to join the lessons. Lessons will run at the published time – so please be ready and set up to join in.

Some of our courses are now delivered through remote learning, including video conferencing (using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype) and email contact with your tutor.

If your course is indicated as an ONLINE COURSE, you will need either a PC (with a camera and microphone), laptop, tablet, smartphone and access to the internet to be able to join the lessons. Lessons will run at the published time – so be ready and set up to join in.
