Tap Dance

Tap is for everyone and this class will help you start! You will learn the basic steps, rhythms and techniques of tap, working on building strength, balance and rhythm.

Course Content

You will learn the basic steps, beats and timings in tap, working towards building technique and musicality. You will learn steps and sequences in the centre and may work towards learning a choreographed, short dance in the centre.

Safety Information
We want to keep you safe while you are at RHACC and as such all on-site classes will be run under strict social distancing guidelines with smaller class sizes and additional hygiene procedures in place. Please act responsibly and do not attend the class if you display any of the symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in recent contact with someone who has. Please see government advice here.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on the start date of the course.

This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in dance- whether you have done tap as a child and miss it or if you have never danced before! No experience is necessary.
For the first class it is advised to wear tight fitting clothes and comfortable shoes that won't come off or tap shoes so the teacher can see and help correct the line of the body.
This course is aimed at beginners.

Additional Information

Some of our courses are now delivered through remote learning, including video conferencing (using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype) and email contact with your tutor.

If your course is indicated as an ONLINE COURSE, you will need either a PC (with a camera and microphone), laptop, tablet, smartphone and access to the internet to be able to join the lessons. Lessons will run at the published time – so be ready and set up to join in.
