A Taste of German - Part 1

You are keen to learn German but you would like to get an idea of the learning process before committing to a longer course. This fun and interactive course will give you a flavour of the language while introducing you to key vocabulary and expressions to initiate a conversation with native speakers.
This course will be delivered online using Zoom or Teams portals.

Course Content

As part of this course you will learn how to:
• Say hello and goodbye in different contexts.
• Introduce yourself and understand information.
• Alphabet and numbers.
• Essential expressions to thank, apologise.
• Say how are you feeling and understand.
• Simple structures and present tense of regular verbs.

Safety Information
We want to keep you safe while you are at RHACC and as such all on-site classes will have additional hygiene procedures in place, as per government guidelines. Please note that if guidance changes, we may need to make changes to your course, such as reducing numbers attending onsite, or in the event of lockdown, postponing or moving the course online. Please act responsibly and do not attend the class if you display any of the symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in recent contact with someone who has. Please see government advice here.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on the start date of the course.

No previous knowledge of the language required.
This is a course for complete beginners.

Attendance Requirements

Attendance is essential to acquire language skills and guarantee progress.

Assessment Methods

Learners will discuss their goals with the tutor who will assess their progress during the course through in-class observation and a range of activities.

Further to completing the above course you can join “A taste of German part 2“.

Additional Information

Students will receive a message from their tutor prior to session with instructions on how to join the online session.

Remote Learning:
Some of our courses are now delivered through remote learning, including video conferencing (using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype) and email contact with your tutor.

If your course is indicated as an ONLINE COURSE, you will need either a PC (with a camera and microphone), laptop, tablet, smartphone and access to the internet to be able to join the lessons. Lessons will run at the published time – so be ready and set up to join in.
