To join this course, you need to meet the following requirements:
A Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies (or equivalent) gained within the last three years.
GCSE Grade 4/C in English (or equivalent).
A successful interview with a course tutor and a piece of free writing to assess academic writing ability.
A tutor reference from your Level 3 course on headed paper.
Your attendance record from Level 3.

Your progress will be monitored through regular tutorials and a criteria-based portfolio of assessed work. This includes case studies, theoretical essays, and supervision case notes. Your "Fitness to Practice" will be assessed throughout the course. Successful completion can lead to independent practice with experience and supervision, or by completing PC-L5 or its equivalent.
Please note the following:
You need to be in weekly personal therapy (minimum 70 hours) at your own cost.
BACP student membership is required and must be renewed for the second year.
You'll need to secure a voluntary placement and complete 40 hours of client work before progressing to the second year.
You will complete a minimum of 100 supervised counselling hours over two years, working with at least 5 different clients in an agency setting.
Tutors will assist you in applying for a volunteer placement.
You need access to IT equipment, including a microphone and webcam, for electronic submission of work and portfolio development.
Please note that tutors may occasionally be changed at short notice. While teaching styles may vary, we ensure consistent quality across all of our courses. For this reason, a change of tutor does not qualify for a refund.
