Join our vibrant and relaxing community in Richmond. Build confidence and resilience while maintaining good posture, balance, flexibility and strength through Yoga. Inspired by the Iyengar Yoga method, the class will combine isometric asanas, breathing techniques and relaxation. It is taught at a gentle pace to allow time to focus on specific asanas actions. There will be variations for those who want to challenge themselves further.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
Suitable for people new to yoga as well as more experienced yogis.
First Class Requirements
Bringing bricks, blocks, strap and blanket would be beneficial but not essential. Bring a jumper and socks to keep warm during relaxation.
Attendance Requirements
There are so many benefits to yoga including improved physical and mental health. It can also help to build your confidence and physical strength.
Assessment Methods
You will learn how Yoga can be used to counter some of the physical effects of ageing, with a particular focus on protecting the joints, improving bone density, and strengthening the muscles. This class is taught in a friendly and supportive space alongside people of a similar age. Asanas will be practised with the use of props according to the specific physical needs of mature students, to help them stay active and preserve a good quality of life.
Further Study Options
Additional yoga courses, perhaps focusing on a particular aspect such as meditation, pranayama etc.

Wear comfortable, loose or stretchy leggings/trousers and top. We are bare footed in the class.
