- Ceramics Throwing Week - Beginners - Summer School
This is a fun practical beginner’s course, which aims to give you an understanding of throwing on the wheel.
You will have five days working on the wheel to make a set of mugs and/or bowls. This concentrated amount of time gives you the chance to really practice and master this rewarding technique. You will be taught by a professional thrower, who has over 10 years teaching experience. The course includes an evening glazing session later in the term to allow students to return and glaze their work from the summer.
Ceramic Handbuilding & Throwing - Intermediate - Summer School
This one week course is designed to introduce you to ceramic decorating techniques on soft clay, leatherhard clay and fired clay .
Ceramics - An Introduction to Making
This 6-week course has been designed for complete beginners or those with very limited knowledge of clay. It takes learners through studio inductions and teaches hand building fundamental techniques progressing skills through the course. Weeks 1 and 2 introduces the studio and studio processes beginning with press moulding a bowl. Week 3 moves on to slab building; week 4 is pinch pots and coiling; week 5 concentrates on refining and adding decorative texture to your projects with the final week 6 introducing how to glaze and to complete all projects.

Please note this course is NOT a course for beginners.
Ceramics Handbuilding Workshop
This is a mixed level course welcoming complete beginners to accomplished ceramicists. Beginners will be taken through the main methods of handbuilding and glazing, spending a few weeks on each method.
There will be time at the end of the course to consolidate learning (by making new work using the skills learned), as well as learning a few specific techniques which can be used to make and decorate various vessels.

This masterclass course is designed to give you the opportunity to spend an extended time each week working on your own throwing projects. The class is longer than the normal, giving you the time to practice and hone your throwing skills. You will be supported and guided by your tutor, who is an experienced and professional potter.
