Clothesmaking - Intermediate

Our fun, practical course will ensure you become confident making garments to fit. You will reach a higher level of competence using commercial patterns, plus choosing fabrics and styles that compliment you.

You can work on the class project of a shirt dress but also have the opportunity to choose your own pattern to sew. Alternately you may wish to learn skills necessary to up cycle or repurpose a garment or simply mend or refit a well loved garment.

As an absolute beginner you will be shown how to use the sewing machine and join in the group projects of a cushion cover and bag before moving on to an A line skirt to your measurements. You will use a commercial pattern, plus choose a fabric that compliments you.

Machine and Hand Embroidery for Art, Fashion & Interiors

Hand embroidery is a wonderful way to relax whilst creating beautiful outcomes, and nothing is more satisfying and time-saving than digital embroidery. On this course you will learn how to do both. Pattern Cutting - Beginners

A new introductory course to pattern cutting, starting with the basics of measuring the body for a skirt, using the tools and equipment and understanding the terminology used.
As an absolute beginner you will be shown how to draft a basic skirt block to your individual measurements and then trace this into a working pencil skirt pattern form.
