Contemporary Fashion Jewellery

This course will teach a range of new jewellery making skills. You will learn how to upcycle broken
or unused costume jewellery into new pieces. Make moulds and cast resin pieces. Make objects
such as pendants in pewter and learn wire working techniques.

Jewellery - Studio for Makers

This workshop is focussed on independent learning and is designed for learners at intermediate level, to continue to develop their technical and creative skills in jewellery independently. The session is untutored however, guidance and support will be provided by a qualified technician.

Jewellery Advanced Practice

This jewellery course is suitable for learners with an advance level of jewellery making skills or those wishing to learn advanced skills.

Through set projects you will learn a range of skills while working with silver and some gold. You will learn advanced stone setting and wax carving skills, how to repair or remake jewellery pieces and how to add colour through patina and enamelling using hot and cold enamels.

You will learn through hands on demonstrations, group work, design sessions, gallery exhibitions/museum visits, tutor guidance and support.

Wax Carving and Casting for Jewellery

Most jewellery casting today uses a variation on the lost wax method developed in ancient Egypt.

This Course will teach you how to model/carve and mould wax. The wax will then be cast into silver using the ‘Lost wax casting process’

During the day you will have a chance to cast silver using ‘Cuttlefish’ and ‘sand casting’. These cast elements could then be used on their own, or be used as an element on another piece of jewellery. (this can be discussed on day)
