Frame & Mount Your Own Prints

This 3-day workshop is an introduction to picture framing. During the workshop, you learn to plan and cuts mounts for your artwork, cut and assemble the picture frames, cut glass and backing and assemble all the pieces to complete the framed piece to a professional standard. Each session has a combination of theory and practice, with the emphasis on demonstrations and practical work. You should complete two frames, ready to hang, in the three-day workshop.

The class is aimed at those with no previous experience, if you have framed before you can broaden your range of experience by working on projects of your own choosing, working at your own pace with guidance and tuition from the tutor. Oil Painting Restoration

The course will cover all aspects of oil painting conservation for beginners and continuing students will be able to build on previously acquired knowledge

Various restoration techniques will be covered. Students will be able to learn new skills as well as consolidate their existing knowledge of oil painting restoration techniques. The teaching will essentially be based on students’ personal projects (you will work on your damaged painting), but some lectures and practical exercises will be given by the Tutor.

Upholstery - Beginners

Our new upholstery course offers you the chance to finally get round to upgrading that chair you?ve saved from the charity shop.

You?ll work on your own project - and learn techniques for either modern or traditional upholstery, depending on the type of chair you want to work on.

Upholstery is definitely quite slow-going, but you should be able to get either a small armchair, drop-in chair or footstool completed within the four or five days.
