Oil Painting Restoration

The course will cover all aspects of oil painting conservation for beginners and continuing students will be able to build on previously acquired knowledge

Various restoration techniques will be covered. Students will be able to learn new skills as well as consolidate their existing knowledge of oil painting restoration techniques. The teaching will essentially be based on students’ personal projects (you will work on your damaged painting), but some lectures and practical exercises will be given by the Tutor.

Picture Framing for Beginners and Improvers - Intensive

Do you buy art and never get it framed? Are you an artist or photographer with collection of unframed pieces? Have you considered a picture framing workshop?
In this workshop, you learn about the components of a well framed piece of art and learn the steps to producing the same results.
Using the Fine Art Trade Guild standards for framing art, you learn to:
Plan, design and measure a piece of art.
Cut the components for that art, including the mounts, frame, and glass.
Assemble the pieces to complete the framed piece to a professional standard.

Upholstery - Intensive

The five-day intensives are suitable for all levels of upholstery skills, from beginners to those with some experience. Both traditional and modern techniques are taught, depending on your project. Upholstery is very time consuming, so if you bring a large project, please keep in mind that it may take longer than 5 days.

You provide the furniture, fabric and trimmings, and we provide the materials. Please wear sensible clothes and shoes, upholstery is quite a dusty job so dont wear your finest.
