Wax Carving and Casting for Jewellery
Most jewellery casting today uses a variation on the lost wax method developed in ancient Egypt.
This Course will teach you how to model/carve and mould wax. The wax will then be cast into silver using the ‘Lost wax casting process’
During the day you will have a chance to cast silver using ‘Cuttlefish’ and ‘sand casting’. These cast elements could then be used on their own, or be used as an element on another piece of jewellery. (this can be discussed on day)
Ways into Creative Writing: Poems and Short Stories
This short 4-week course is an introduction to some of the important ingredients you need to create poems and short stories. We will explore where ideas come from and key tools and techniques that can help you write more effectively, such as structure, imagery and sound.
