You'll gain confidence, learn new pieces, and experience the magic of ensemble playing.
This course covers:
The Richmond Contemporary Ensemble is a non-auditioned instrumental ensemble playing music from multiple genres from jazz to RnB to popular.
The ensemble is open to all instrument groups: strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, piano (or keyboards), guitars.
This course will provide an opportunity to play a musical instrument in a group, in the company of like-minded people.
How Will You Learn
This is a practical, hands-on course. An experienced tutor with real industry expertise will share their knowledge and skills and provide you with personalised feedback throughout the course.
There will be an opportunity to perform works studied in the class at he College half termly Open Mic Series.
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
The ability to read music and/or charts from at least Grade 3.
Reasonable technical ability on any non-amplified chosen musical instrument.
Your progress will be assessed through active participation and feedback from your teacher. You may wish to progress to further practical jazz courses at Richmond Jazz School. See our website for more information.
