
Looking to refine your printmaking skills? This course is designed for students with some prior experience who want to explore screen printing and relief processes further. It's a great way to refresh your knowledge and try new techniques. You'll deepen your understanding of printmaking in a supportive environment, building confidence and expanding your creative abilities. This course is not suitable for complete beginners.
This course covers:
Monotypes: Exploring the unique qualities of monotype printing.
Relief Printmaking: Developing skills in relief printing techniques.
Screenprinting: Learning the fundamentals of screen printing.
Design Stage: Taking your designs from concept to print.
Plate/Screen Processing: Understanding the preparation of plates and screens.
Image Printing: Mastering the art of printing your image.
Exhibitions and Websites: Discovering relevant resources and inspiration.
Printmakers' Work: Studying the work of established printmakers.
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
No formal qualifications are required.
Previous experience in printmaking is necessary.
Enthusiasm for developing and exploring new skills is essential.

Your progress will be assessed through practical work and tutor feedback. The course fees include printing inks, printing mediums, emulsions and solvents. After completing this course, you could explore more advanced printmaking techniques or other art and design courses at RHACC.
Course fees include printing inks, printing mediums, emulsions and solvents. Students are required to provide their own drawing and preparatory equipment. Specialist printmaking papers are available to purchase. Wear appropriate clothing and bring an apron as printing can be messy. Bring a notebook/sketchbook, drawing materials, masking tape, parcel tape, and a scalpel. Any specific materials required for processes will be given to you at the first class. Paper is available to buy in class.
