Our Introduction to Artificial Intelligence course provides a comprehensive understanding of AI concepts, practical applications, and ethical considerations. Whether you?re seeking employment, developing your business, or simply curious about AI?s impact on everyday life, this 6-week evening course covers topics such as machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and future trends.

Course Content

Introduction to AI
What is AI? Core concepts and terminology.
Historical context and evolution of AI.
Real-world examples of AI applications.

AI Concepts
Understanding machine learning (ML).
Supervised vs. unsupervised learning.
Deep learning fundamentals.
Neural networks architecture.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision
NLP techniques: sentiment analysis, chatbots, etc.
Computer vision applications: image recognition, object detection.
Ethical considerations in NLP and computer vision.

Generative AI and Creative Applications
Introduction to generative AI models (Adobe Firefly, Dall-e, Midjourney).
Creative applications: art, music, and text generation.

AI Ethics and Future Trends
Ethical challenges in AI development.
Bias, fairness, and transparency.
Future trends: AI in healthcare, business, and everyday life.

Hands-on practice in all lessons using tools such as ChatGPT4o, CoPilot, Perplexity for generative text. Creating generative art. How to make your own Chatbot

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

An understanding of using search engines and web browsing, basic computer skills

Regular attendance is essential.

Assessment Methods

You will be asked to complete a personal learning plan to monitor your learning on the course.
Learners completing the course successfully will be able to receive a business school certificate.

Further Study Options

Further course in aspects of AI such as data science and machine learning with Python, or the Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma : Digital technologies/Computing which contain AI related content.
