These lively, interactive lessons will extend your knowledge and understanding of art movements and what artists were striving to do through their work. We will focus on art periods ranging from from the 14th Century through to current times. Often these artists showed tremendous commitment to their artistic quests despite trials and tribulations which, I hope, will leave us feeling inspired and with a sense of connection to others. A diverse range of disciplines will be included in these discussions. You will be encouraged to participate, give your own opinions, share knowledge and discuss ideas throughout the class.

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
No prior knowledge or art education is required.
This is a leisure course without formal assessment. The course is designed to inspire and inform.
Learners may join the course in any term. You don't have to attend all terms. This course continues over three terms, commencing with art in the 14th century and culminating with art movements in the late 20th century.
