This course will explore the power and versatility of Adobe InDesign in a series of practical exercises, designed to build your knowledge and develop confidence.
Navigating the InDesign interface
Setting up a document: size, orientation, single pages and spreads
Using rulers
Format pages: margins, columns, guides and grids
Insert/import text and images
Cut, copy and paste text and graphics
Reposition and resize text and images
Format text and text styles: font styles, sizes and weights; text justification and kerning; wrap-around text; indents, bullet points, rules and drop caps
Use of Parent pages
Apply colour and swatches to page elements
Saving and exporting documents
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
This course is suitable for beginners to Adobe programmes.
You should have a basic working knowledge of computers, including basic commands.
We'll track your progress through practical exercises and tutor feedback.
For many of our courses in creative computing and technology, you will be entitled to a free Adobe Creative Cloud license using your student account.
