
Ready to take your piano playing to the next level? This course is perfect if you've completed our beginners' course or have some basic piano knowledge. You'll play simple tunes, explore Grade One Piano and Theory, and develop your enjoyment of playing in a fun, creative environment. This course will help you build confidence and musicality.
This course covers:
Basic harmony and theory: Understand fundamental music concepts
Exploring a range of music: Play simple pieces and more challenging ones as appropriate to your level
Developing good posture and technique: Learn how to play comfortably and efficiently
How and what to practice: Get tips on effective practice strategies
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
This course is not for complete beginners.
You may have recently completed our piano beginners course.
You should have knowledge of elements of Grade 1 Theory such as basic notation and the notes on the piano.
You should be able to play some simple tunes and wish to develop your enjoyment of playing the piano.
Level 1 literacy is an advantage as handouts will be distributed to reinforce learning.
There is no formal assessment on this course, but you will be able to identify individual goals and reflect on your development. Your tutor will assess your learning and progress through the practical nature of the classes. You may wish to progress to further practical music courses at RHACC.
