To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
To enrol on the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, you must:
Have English at Level 2.
No previous training or experience is required.
you are expected to attend all classes and arrive on time.
There is no automatic progression from one level to the next.
There is no guarantee that the next level course will be scheduled at the same time as the level you are progressing from.
You will build a portfolio of evidence throughout the course, primarily through assignments assessed by your tutor. We'll also assess your ability to work independently and within a group. You'll complete reflective learning statements to track your progress. Your "Fitness to Practice" will be assessed, ensuring you demonstrate the personal competencies required to be a counsellor. Successful completion allows you to progress to further counselling qualifications.
You will be interviewed by course tutors to determine whether you are personally ready and able to progress to Level 3. Both your personal development, Fitness to Practice and your academic achievement will be taken into account in making this decision.
This qualification may be eligible for funding in England under local flexibility arrangements. It has NCPS Recognised Qualification CPCAB CSK-L2 status by the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). This qualification is an important step in counselling training, but it does not, on its own, qualify you to practice as a counsellor. You'll need further qualifications/training to do so.
