Want to immerse yourself in the world of jazz? This intensive course runs every Friday for 6 weeks and is perfect for developing your jazz musicianship in a supportive and creative environment. It's a great taster for the longer Richmond Jazz School 1 Year Course, giving you the chance to review and expand your skills. If you're looking to grow as a jazz musician and connect with like-minded people, this course is for you!
This practical course will focus on:
In-depth exploration of a course repertoire of 3 or 4 pieces, weaving all aspects of jazz development into the sessions.
Technical work and objectives developed alongside rhythmic work.
Continued exploration and application of jazz harmony to understanding jazz pieces.
Developing your personal strategy for improvisation.
To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
You need to be of an intermediate level on your instrument (not a beginner).

Sight reading is useful but not essential.
Repertoire is developed slowly and in depth, and music can be learned at your own pace.
