
This is a hands-on, project-based course that will give you confidence with learning about data science while gaining employability skills. The course is suitable for those interested in working with data, either part - time, full-time or as an additional source of income.
Successful completion of the course leads to a level 2 certificate in Digital Skills.
The modules are as follows:
Programming Fundamentals - Using Python
Using (SQL)
Data Analysis and Interpretation
Introduction to Big Data through collaborative working
Digital Safety and Security supported by CISCO Cybersecurity essentials
The course also has integrated resources for career planning and improving employment prospects.

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.
Entry is by tutor approval only. Students should have a good knowledge of ICT systems and/or already work within the IT industry. Having some prior experience of programming and development would be useful. Learners will need a good standard of literacy and numeracy prior to considering this course. You will need a minimum of Level 1 in both due to the written nature of some of the assignments.
If you are new to the college, you may be advised to first enrol on an alternative course before committing to a qualification. This is to help fully assess both your commitment and your motivation to complete an accredited course whereby the completion of coursework is required.

Attendance is mandatory for this course, you are expected to attend every session.
Mainly through Project and Practical work and some written reports.
Progression to other courses at level 3, the CCNA, CISCO Python, Cyber security, Level 3 Access to Computing or other specialist Web technologies courses.
