Access to Humanities and Social Science (Women-Only)

The Access to HE Diploma is a full Level 3 programme for learners who wish to gain entry to university but do not hold the necessary level 3 qualifications (such as A levels or BTEC ND), have not been in education for a number of years or are seeking a career change.

The programme is designed for adults

  • who have an interest in the humanities and/or social sciences
  • unable to participate in or benefit from initial education due to personal circumstances
  • who come from groups which are under-represented in higher education
  • are seeking a change of direction because of unemployment or lack of career opportunities
  • demonstrable interest in entering a humanities and/or social sciences related profession

Learners who complete the diploma are able to progress to a Higher Education study in areas related to Humanities and Social Science. These may include but not limited to some of the following areas of Degree level study:

  • English Literature
  • History
  • Criminology
  • Psychology
  • Law
  • Sociology
  • Social Policy
  • Social Anthropology
  • Media Studies
  • Politics
  • International Relations
  • Philosophy

and a wide range of combined and related degrees
