Linda Jones

Linda is Emeritus Professor of Health at the Open University and a previous Dean of the Faculty of Health and Social Care (1995-2000). Her major teaching and research interests are in public health, in particular environmental and children’s health. Between 2000 and 2017 she was Pro-Vice Chancellor, Curriculum and Awards, in which capacity she established the OU Centre for Widening Participation and the OU Centre for Professional Learning and Development. She led the OU-RCN Strategic Alliance to extend learning opportunities for nurses and support staff. She now works as a consultant in public health professional development.  Since May 2017 she has served as a County Councillor and is a Member of Cambridgeshire County Council’s Health Committee and Commercial and Investment Committee. Her role on the Health Committee includes helping to prioritise public health spending across the county to tackle health inequalities. Linda was appointed Chair of the Hillcroft Council in July 2012, and became co-Vice Chair of the RHACC Board upon the merger with Richmond Adult Community College in October 2017.
